“Thank you so much for our wedding photos! We absolutely love them and can’t stop looking at them. And several friends have asked for your details.” – Claire & Darren

Documentary wedding photography

When I met Claire at Pennyhill Park to discuss the photography for her half-day wedding, I could see why she and Darren had chosen this exclusive hotel as their venue – with its with the handsome ivy-clad house, and sweeping gardens with their terraces, gazebo and ornamental ponds.

Pennyhill Park in Bagshot, Surrey, is a luxury spa and hotel, and was home to the England Rugby Union team during the 2015 World Cup. The main country house itself dates back to the mid-19th Century. And it was here, in its wood-panelled rooms, that the ceremony and wedding breakfast took place. In between, the guests occupied the terrace for drinks and games.

It was fun to spend time with Claire and her sister Nicola photographing them getting ready in one of the spacious rooms at Pennyhill. Claire seemed incredibly relaxed and there was a lot of laughter that morning.

It was a real treat to be around when Claire’s dad, Andy, turned up to walk her down to the main house. I could tell that Darren was pretty nervous and emotional. In fact, everyone in the ceremony room was on the verge to tears of happiness as Claire and her dad entered. It made for a very moving occasion…and some lovely pictures. Hope you like them too.

If you’re looking for a documentary wedding photographer to tell the story of your Pennyhill Park wedding, or any other location, I’d love you to get in touch.
