Lewes wedding photography
There was an effortless sophistication to Aedin and Aggy’s intimate wedding at the atmospheric Anne of Cleves House in Southover, Lewes, East Sussex.
An Anne of Cleves House wedding is just perfect for smaller gatherings and with its connections to Henry VIII’s fourth wife, adds a very regal feel to any marriage. And with such gorgeous light that afternoon, and bride and groom looking so elegant, it was a real treat to be taking pictures.
Beautiful wedding photography
After a simple and emotional ceremony the party drifted into the romantic tea garden for a leisurely glass or two of champagne. Aedin and Aggy were then whisked away in a stunning Trojan vintage car to the nearby Southover Grange house and gardens for more drinks and celebrations.
I wanted the images to show not only the bride and groom at their best, but also to convey the mood of the day, the myriad of colours, the heat and excitement and the simple beauty of it all, from a detail on a dress to a look of sheer joy and expectation.
My style sits somewhere between documentary wedding photography and art photography. And it’s the endless scope for telling both linear and more creative stories that makes photographing weddings such a pleasure. Here is a selection from that memorable day – I hope you like them.
If you’re looking for a documentary wedding photographer to tell the story of your Anne of Cleves House wedding or Southover Grange House wedding, or any other location, I’d love you to get in touch.
