“Thank you so much for these absolutely beautiful pictures – they really told the story of our day. You were brilliant on the day and you managed to get some pictures that we had no idea you were even around for. You were brilliantly inconspicuous! We were so pleased we picked you to photograph our day – these pictures are exactly what we were looking for.” – Jessica & Steve
Broyle Place Wedding Photography
It was one of those super-sparkly summer mornings when I turned up to shoot Jessica and Steve’s Broyle Place wedding near Ringmer in East Sussex. The tree-lined drive and manor house, dating back to Elizabethan times, looked an absolute picture, and as the guests started to arrive it took on a timeless feel.
Candid wedding photography
When I met up with Jessica and Steve a few weeks earlier to discuss what they wanted, they said they’d chosen me because of my candid, documentary style, and my ability to capture those unguarded moments.
Broyle Place, which has so many impressive historic rooms, really lends itself to interesting photography. And with so many kids running around enjoying the lawns and stone terraces, staircases and fireplaces, it was a joy to tell their wedding story.
As a documentary wedding photographer I love photographing genuine emotions and funny scenes, and this was a wedding full of both. From Jessica getting ready with her family and friends to guests dancing round the tables and holding hands singing classic songs, it was a day to remember.
Thanks to Jessica and Steve for being so welcoming and having me around on their big day! And to Betty and her team at the lovely Broyle Place.
If you’re looking for a documentary wedding photographer to tell the story of your wedding at Broyle Place, or any other location, I’d love you to get in touch.
